Focusing primarily on chipmunks, this series is about the animals that visit the deck for food. It’s about capturing good shots of these animals so that they can be enjoyed up close. Most importantly, it’s about learning about the animals and the forests so that we may be better at protecting them.

We are fortunate to have access to the forests of southern Ontario and experience the beauty that it holds. With a full season planned for Chip Away, hopefully you will join us on this remarkable journey.

Anyone who has spent time in or near a forest in North America is most likely familiar with chipmunks. Though they can become a nuisance to some, around here chipmunks are widely cherished as a highly valued part of the woodland experience.

It’s great fun feeding the chipmunks while sitting on the deck. We started taking video and of course the camera loved them. For fun and a potential internet show, we decided to film the chipmunks and the other animals as much as possible over an entire season.
